For those of you who associate grass with allergies, you may not appreciate this post. Nevertheless, here’s a landscape picture I took this morning.
Taken with my new 70-200 2.8 VRII
1/3200, f2.8 @ 70mm
Went out after the rain this afternoon to get some shots, used my D300s, 105 Micro and SB-600 mounted on a bracket to get it closer to the subject.
The flies were shot at 1:1, so they’re just pretty small.

I recently bought a new body, the D300s which I have been thoroughly enjoying!
Here are some pictures of plovers, I cannot identify the exact species, the red ring around the eye has me stumped.
It’s a Killdeer plover
D300s + 75-300 + SB-600
Last weekend we took a backpacking trip to Castle Peak, an hour up from Weimar. We had a great time snowshoeing and snowcamping on 12 ft of snow. On Saturday we hiked to (almost) the top of the peak. Couldn’t make it with our gear though so we turned back. Click here to view all the pictures.
A few nature pictures from my recent field-trip to the Academy of Science in San Francisco. If anyone Feels like they want to identify the species of each creature, feel free to do so! ![]()
Pictures taken with D80 with 35 1.8 and 105 2.8 micro
I found this picture in my files from a camping trip to the coast and thought I would post it on here.
This was a long exposure taken after sunset.
